Cleanse Your House of the Curse of Complaining

This day in prayer and meditation in God’s Word I have located the thief that has been stealing my blessing (our blessing).

A foul spirit of complaining, the majority of which occurs through our mouths!

Know assuredly they who murmur against the Lord shall be swiftly punished and demoted from their heavenly calling, being brought down to menial labor and servitude (see Joshua 9:18-21).

The curse of hard labor came upon the murmurers because they refused to believe and continually complained (Joshua 9:22-23).

If you want to murmur and complain against your spouse and the Lord, I assure you your life will only get worse because God does not bless complainers. In fact God makes complainers lives more hard and difficult, doing unto them according to their words (Numbers 14:28).

So that being said, I urge you to leave your complaints.  I don’t want them in my house, my heart, nor do I want them to fill my ears.  I’m going forward into the promised land.  Enter into such joy of the Lord with me, but your heart must change .

The choice is yours!

Choose this day whom you will serve – God, yourself, or the devil.

“I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both you and your seed may live.” (Deuteronomy 30:19).

If you choose to be blessed, no complaining will be tolerated. So if you want to keep your bitterness and complaining, stay with the devil and don’t profess to be a Christian.

If you want to cleanse your heart, be holy, and be happy – you shall be free to live the abundant life in Christ and be fully received and celebrated by God.

However there shall be no more complaining. From this day forward men must put their foot down. Husbands tell your wivews, if you are going to live in my house, dwell under my roof, eat my food, use my AC, drive my car, use my gas……no more complaining, no more bad attitude, no more stinking thinking, no more whining, no more cursing me with a foul tongue. No more! No more! No more!

Fall on your knees and get your heart right before God or don’t come home.

Tell your wife and kids you love them, but in loving them you have an obligation to speak the truth to them and demand the best of them (yourself too).

Your best friends bring out the best in you!  Hence I am your best friend.  I don’t flatter you, I apply pressure to bring out the best in you.  If you want to stay low and be miserable the rest of your life, stay there and find some miserable comforters.  Misery loves company.

If however you want to be a true man or woman with honor and integrity, cleanse your heart and come home. Fall on your knees and call upon the Lord to fix, renew, and give you newness of life.

You are loved unconditionally, but you are being challenged to grow into manhood and womanhood.
“I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13).

“Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report; if there by any virtue, any praise, think on these things…..and the God of peace shall be with you.” (Philippians 4:4-9)

God is challenging you to be empowered, be equipped, be renewed, and be your best.

Only as you humble yourself and rid your heart of arrogance will you be blessed.

All my love accompanied with truth to set the captives free!
If there is one wish I have for you, it is that you find peace.  The remedy and prescription is stated above.

Easy on the Eyes, Rough on the Ears

Have you ever met a woman

Who was easy on the eyes,

But ever so rough on the ears?

When she speaks she awakens fears

Births self-doubt and apprehension

Ready to harshly critique and berate you

Without forethought or a moment’s hesitation.

Such a woman is a plight and paradox indeed

She attracts a man’s eyes, but makes his heart bleed

Once allured, seduced, and ensnared it is hard to be freed

Therefore I warn you my brothers to listen and take heed

Lest you be by your eyes enticed, engulfed, and overcome

Hear a woman speak and behold her actions, before you run

Because being committed to a boisterous woman is not fun

It will nearly make you want to be die, or be deaf and dumb

Playing dumb is not sufficient to endure belligerence, nor shun

A continuously complaining, belittling, and destructive woman

Therefore men beware before by your eyes and hormones you succumb

To the sophisticated seductress, lying lioness, and beguiling woman

Show restraint and behold her behavior over a long period of time

Thereafter you will know if she possesses nobility and does shine

Radiate with inner glory, the woman within, cultivated and captivated

If not, run hastily without explanation from her like decaying rot

Because when her looks fade, an annoying woman you have got.

Truly from the overflow of the heart come the words of the mouth

As for body parts gravity will pull them all eventually down south.

Character is contained in one’s actions, not mere promises and words

Watch out for loudly expressed wants, wishes, demands, and expectations

For these are the signs of inner motivations and brutally fatal relations

Which many men foolishly embrace and work tirelessly to futiley chase

Seeking to secure things to make their bottomless pit of a woman happy

After which they realize nothing and nobody can make a woman joyous

Because happiness is an inside job, a mystery to be discovered by all of us.

Remove yourself from the rat race early on brother and let her not smother

Be content until you find a quiet and quality woman …perhaps like your mother.

TV Guide and NY Times say Oprah Winfrey’s Empire is Crumbling

TV Guide’s Chloe Tse article dated 05-27-2008 reports tremors in Oprah’s media empire.

According to TV Guide Winfrey’s new-age spiritualism and political persuasion is jeopardizing her marketability in the media, thereby diminishing her status.

Perhaps Winfrey’s longtime reign over the media is coming to an abrupt end. For so long revered as nearly a saint because of her uplifting programming, Oprah is now beginning to receive criticism for her views. It has often been said that one should not talk about their religion and politics. Oprah is defying the odds and daring to do both.

I salute her for her authenticity and boldness to express her individuality. Yet doing so is simultaneously hurting her marketability. Nevertheless on the flip side of that argument, we do well to remember that controversy does sell. Who knows the queen of TV could remake herself into an activist for worthy causes and a voice against social injustice. Nobody can dispute Oprah has done and is doing a lot of good in the world. And with such influence why shouldn’t she let her voice be heard?

The New York Times says Oprah’s choices are gaining skepticism and audiences are tuning out. According to Nielson Media Research, for the third straight year in a row, Oprah is experiencing a decline in audience viewers.

Research shows Oprah’s program has dropped 7% of its viewers this year alone. Oprah’s other projects also seem to be suffering. For example her reality show Oprah’s Big Give debuted this winter with a huge audience and beat every program on television except for American Idol, but also experienced the loss of almost a third of its audience.

Winfrey’s readership of O her magazine, which you would think to have increased with the nonstop promotion of Tolle’s book, suffered a beating and loss of 10% over the last 3 years according to the Audit Bureau of Circulations.

Even Oprah’s favorite and highly promoted books in her book club are suffering harsh criticism. Apparently Oprah either didn’t adequately study the demographics of her viewers, or disregarded her viewers beliefs altogether. Women in the deep south who heavily watch Oprah’s program are typically Christian and many supporters of Senator Hillary Clinton.  Hence Oprah has cut her own throat by alienating Christendom with her new age books and shows, while simultaneously disenchanting white women when she endorsed Barak Obama for President.

As a Christian who read “A New Earth” and found it a in meaningful book, I understand both how Oprah feels and religious folks who don’t play around with their faith. Certainly not all Christians can eat the fish and spit out the bones when reading spiritual truths originating from another ideological orbit. Politically Americans aren’t very tolerant or understanding either, as evidenced by the great political divide in our country between Republicans and Democrats.

I commend Oprah for being true to what she believes in and bold enough to share what she thinks will empower people to live better lives. Her intentions and motives are certainly pure. If Oprah were solely money motivated, she would not continue to promote her spiritual and political views. Yet being already established financially, Oprah is embarking upon larger more meaningful missions to change the world. O Ambassadors is just one new endeavor Oprah is partnering with Free the Children to liberate and educate kids worldwide.

Hopefully Oprah who says she is a Christian will not find problems with parents concerned about their children getting sold new-age ideas. I think Oprah is doing a great work and deserves our support. Yet at the same time we who have beliefs of our own should not be any less vocal than Oprah.

Anything worth having in life requires a sacrifice. For Oprah it is a drop in viewer ratings, book sales, and magazine distribution. Nevertheless the rewards of the sacrifice should be sufficient to warrant the losses. Often we must first be willing to lose in order to win.

It cannot be disputed that ultimately we attract what we are. We cannot please everyone and succeed. We are at our best when we are true to ourselves and transparent about it. That Oprah is and that is why we love her.

Beyond touching hearts and putting tears in our eyes, Oprah also makes people think. Now raising eyebrows and making us scratch our heads, Oprah is finding herself as she further evolves. She recently said on her program that she admits to not having enough time to truly enjoy herself.  Perhaps as Oprah becomes more present and lets go of the ambition of sustaining her empire, critics will be silenced and her true spirit will emerge in purity untainted from the labels many have tried to presumptuously give her.

Dividing audiences is not always a bad thing as even the Word of God itself divides, while exposing our hearts (see Hebrews 4:12). Although Oprah’s television audience is predominately middle-aged white women who support Senator Hillary Clinton, most Americans are awaking to the reality that we need some color in the White House to truly get real and heal the homeland.

Angry criticism of new-age spiritualism and political disputes though a common message thread on the message boards from her website, Oprah will continue to transcend the accusations and come out on top as she honors the God of truth.  Love rejoices in the truth and we should do no less.

Next up for Oprah is OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network. featuring programming that will reflect Winfrey’s vision of what she considers empowering programming.

You can’t go wrong when you touch, teach, and transform your audience.

It’s not about being the queen of the media as much as it is about living a meaningful life of purpose to impact humanity.

Coworkers Driving You Nuts – What Do Your Coworkers Do That Drive You Crazy?

My co-workers come into my office too often and break my focus, hindering my work productivity. Talking about non-work related matters, complaining about their latest irritation, and calling to ramble on about nothing of importance.

As a conflict resolution specialist and life coach, I suggest the following to deal with such annoyances.

1. Don’t answer the telephone when you are working.

2. Screen calls and attend to only those that are important.

3. Lock your office door.

4. Put in ear plugs while working at your cubicle to minimize distractions.

5. Politely ask your co-workers not to disturb you.

6. Ask your boss to relocate you to a more quiet place in the office so you can minimize distractions and be more productive.

7. Tell your colleagues at work your ears aren’t garbage cans, neither are you a dumping ground for all their complaints. Tell them to be proactive and solve their own problems.
