A Beautiful Cardinal Flew Toward Me

As I walked into my bedroom what did I see?

I looked through the window in the distance

And to my great joy saw God answer for me

A personal prayer I had uttered weeks earlier

A simple and heartfelt request for a cardinal

A beautiful bird I had not seen in some time

Why I desired to see this beautiful red bird

I know not particularly, but it appealed to me

Perhaps cardinals in Florida are a bit of a rarity

Beyond the black birds and bluejays secondarily

From my days as a boy with a birdhouse out back

Sometimes the squirrels the bluejays would attack

Yet today this gorgeous cardinal with an orange beek

Was strangely still as he was listening for me to speak

Fully red from pointed fluffy head to luscious tail

Upon seeing this bird it made me feel quite well

Although in the distance sitting upon my fence

I somehow knew this lovely bird was God sent

For that Sunday in my office I had been writing

But not only writing, also whistling a worship song

A powerful church song in my spirit all the day long

Feeling a sense of sweet serendipity, I watched intently

When suddenly increasing my joy the bird flew to me

Drawing near to hear equally with intense curiosity

Surprisingly straight to me, directly toward the window

Stopping to rest just feet from me upon the clothes line

My spirit rejoiced within, my mind content and sublime

For not only was I aroused by nature but my loving Creator

Who truly answers my heartfelt prayer, proving He does care

Therefore I shall not be trapped by unbelief’s foul snare

Because I know my God knows atop my head every hair

My heavenly Father’s ears are open, His eyes looking down

Undoubtedly upon me His marvelous grace does abound.

Jean Dominique Bauby – The Diving Bell and the Butterfly

Jean-Dominique Bauby (April 23, 1952 – March 9, 1997) was a well-known French journalist and author and editor of the French fashion magazine ELLE. On December 8, 1995 at the age of 43, Bauby suffered a massive stroke. When he woke up twenty days later, he found he was entirely speechless; he could only blink his left eyelid. This rare condition is called Locked-in Syndrome, a condition wherein the mental faculties are intact but the entire body is paralyzed. Bauby also lost 60 pounds in the first 20 weeks after his stroke.

Nevertheless despite his condition, Bauby fulfilled his dream to write a book which he titled The Diving Bell and the Butterfly by blinking when the correct letter was reached by a person slowly reciting the alphabet over and over again. The book was published in France in 1997. The diving bell of Bauby’s title was his bodily confinement and limitation, the butterfly his imagination.

After fulfilling his dream, Bauby died just 10 days later of pneumonia. In 2007, painter-director Julian Schnabel released a film version of The Diving Bell and the Butterfly which won Schnabel the best director prize at Cannes, a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award nomination for Best Director.

Dream on! Dream on!

On May 21, 2008 just before awaking I had a dream wherein I Pastor Benny Hinn laid hands on me and briefly prayed for me saying, “Dream on! Dream on!”

Upon grabbing my Strong’s Concordance to do a word study of “dream” in the Hebrew I noticed the following definitions – to prop up, to bind firmly, to be plump, make plump, to be in good liking, and to recover.

That being said may the dream of God arise in you and enable you to fully recover from what you’ve been going through. May God Almighty arise in you and cause your gifts, talents, and abilities to flourish in the earth. Blossom like a radiant and beautiful flower.

For those of you weary in well doing and down trodden by life’s overwhelming circumstances, I pray that Jesus by the power of His Holy Spirit will wrap His arms of love around you, comfort, heal, nourish, and restore you to a state of wholeness.

Rest and rejoice in the Lord.  The battle belongs to the Lord.  Let the power of the resurrection flood to overflowing your spirit and soul, making you whole!

Breathe and believe.  Only believe and you will see the glory of God (John 11:40).

Truly with God all things are possible (Mark 10:27).

Indonesia – The Land Of Miracles

Indonesia is a country that has captivated my heart and stirred me to new depths of inspiration.

Every trip I’ve taken through Indonesia, there has been something miraculous and supernatural that has occurred. Though such is typical for my life everywhere I go, Indonesia had something additional and extra special. Indonesia has an intangible quality that intoxicates your heart, propels your passion, and empowers you to move in the miraculous.

My ministry has taken me from the islands of Sumatra all the way to Irian Jaya, bordering Papau New Guinea. I can honestly say the islands and islanders are fantastic. The few isolated incidents of terrorism do happen, but I can live with it for the rewards. Not only do people honor me and treat me like a movie star, but most importantly the supernatural power of God to touch and transform lives is flows incredibly.

I’ve seen healings and deliverances from demons. Others broken hearted have been comforted and healed of emotional wounds. Families have been restored and people reconciled. I guess I’ve discovered my country and calling.

Though I’ve been to over 50 countries worldwide, whenever I am asked “What’s your favorite country and place to travel?” I always reply “Indonesia.” Just the mention of the name of the country brings tears to my eyes.

The depth of my spiritual experiences in Indonesia, the sincerity of the people, the thrill of the surf, and the warm sunshine all swallow me up stealing my heart.

I now must figure out a way how to translate and publish all of my books into Bahasa, after which I want to embark on a motivational speaking and life purpose coaching practice there. I’ve got to find some way to survive there financially. Thankfully the people are generous and do pay for services rendered. Every church I’ve ever ministered in insisted on giving me a love offering.

I guess if I follow my heart and vision, the provision will supernaturally show up somehow. This has been my life story thus far. The only time the money is not there is when I shrink back in fear and don’t go ahead full force.

Yeah! Indonesia is the place for me! I would love to become a citizen and buy a house there near the beach.
