Film Producer Needed for Global Fun, Cross-Cultural Film

When you feel your spirit awaken you to the vision let’s do it! I’m sure you’ve got all the key connections to make it happen!

Imagine how funny it would be cross-culturally to interview people and watch them respond to the power of God?

Funny examples:
– Asians and their super long “lucky mole hair”
– Malaysians in E. Malaysia with their 10 lbs weights hanging from their ear lobes causing holes big enough to put your fist through
– Thai (Chang Mai) long necked ladies
– Indonesians in Wamena “naked and not ashamed”
– Tribal folks in Irian Jaya with 15 inch long fingernails
– Going on a safari in Africa and talking to the Masai who drink blood
– Muslims running to the altar to receive Christ when they’ve seen the power of God save, heal, and deliver people of demons

– Talking to terrorists about the peace and love of God

Diversity, Multi-Cultural & Global Awareness: College Student Success Secrets, Global Student Campus

Diversity, multi-cultural & global awareness is a huge issue on college & university campuses. International students are a large portion of today’s college campus student body. Therefore global & multi-cultural awareness should be embraced, but most American students have never traveled abroad and don’t understand other cultures or ethnicities.

Invite worldwide speaker and life-changing author Paul F. Davis to speak to your college students about success secrets for multi-cultural & global awareness!

As a world traveling humanitarian worker, minister and professional speaker I serendipitously stumbled upon the need of multi-cultural and global awareness on college campuses while participating in a volunteer international language conversation hour for foreign students desirous of learning English.

It was a small way of giving back, not to mention after traveling to over 50 countries and 6 continents myself I was a bit bored with speaking only to Americans. Every time I came home from overseas, I went through reverse culture shock and felt homesick. Yet I was home. I eventually discovered that my heart is most at home abroad among the many wonderful people of the world.

I particularly took a shine to Asia, where two-thirds of the world lives. India and China alone account for two-fifths of the world’s populace. Yet if an American college student were to see a Sikh from India on his college campus, he might mistake him for a Muslim not being multi-culturally aware of the difference.

After working on ground zero the first week of 9-11, I immediately sensed a danger in America’s future foreign policy were we to go full force into “theaters of war” and prematurely and hastily demonize other nationalities and nations we know little about.

Unfortunately my instincts proved to be correct and our government did precisely that. Hence we are now paying for their foreign policy blunders and still trying to clean up the mess, while simultaneously endeavoring to regain the international community’s trust at large. The latter will not be easy as America has grossly violated and alienated the Arab and Muslim world.

Nevertheless Arab, Muslim, and Asian students continue to come to America to study at our colleges and universities. Here then is our opportunity to begin to build bridges, create multi-cultural and global awareness, and embrace diversity on campus.

I believe the colleges, universities, and academic institutions have embraced Muslims and Arabs and will continue to do so. The challenge remains educating (and re-educating) Americans who have no travel experience about other ethnicities and nationalities before stereotypes, misnomers, erroneous presumptions, flawed predispositions, rude prejudices, and belittling biases arise on campus to create conflict.

It is far better early on to invest in establishing a multi-cultural and globally aware student body that embraces every ethnicity within the academic family, than alienate the bright international students and many wonderful ethnic groups among us and find ourselves devilishly divided and later embroiled in a lawsuit.

Truly diversity and cultivating a multi-cultural, inclusive attitude on your college campus is serious and should be strived for to ensure success for your college and university.

It’s time diversity became a cause for celebration not division. The world is getting increasingly closer thanks to the arise of the Internet and modern technology. Our paths are crossing throughout the world more and more frequently. The potential for new breakthroughs and success via cross-pollination academically is limitless.

Therefore let us create an academic community where global & multi-cultural awareness is cultivated on campus so we can transcend the tendency to fight one another and begin to passionately feel for one another as family.

America – Bankruptcy Central, Global Financial Turmoil

Global financial markets were mightily shaken when Lehman Brothers declared chapter 11 bankruptcy.  Australian banks took a big hit as did Asian banks across the Orient.  Banks across Japan were hammered taking losses between 5 to 20% depending how heavily invested they were in Lehman Brothers, some say up to $700 million for some.

Asian stock markets plummeted Tuesday as the collapse of Lehman Brothers and takeover of Merrill Lynch spurred fears of an imminent global financial crisis. European markets extended losses in early trading after falling sharply Monday.

Tokyo’s Nikkei 225 index sank nearly 5 percent to 11,609.72, its lowest close since July 2005, while Hong Kong‘s blue-chip Hang Seng Index shed 5.4 percent to its lowest point in nearly two years.

America is quickly becoming bankruptcy central as major corporations and governmental institutions go belly up.  Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac governmental lending institutions themselves are having difficulty remaining solvent considering all the bad loans and sub-prime mortgage crisis.

Singapore wisely hasn’t tied itself too tightly to the U.S. having a bit of foresight it seems.  Others will have to live and learn.

Foursquare Church President Jack Hayford on Lakeland, Florida Revival

Concerning “The Lakeland Revival”

The following was received by the Foursquare president, Pastor Jack Hayford, as a response to the many inquiries that have been received regarding the “Lakeland Revival.” This response is being sent with the confirmation of the board of directors of The Foursquare Church, including the executive team.

It is understandable that the reports of what may be a breakthrough of divine grace are raising questions regarding the veracity of the reports. Some ask what official stance the Foursquare movement will take toward this phenomenon.First, by any standard of biblical wisdom, it is far too early to assert anything on any terms. Understandably, the reports of miracle blessing would cause rejoicing in anyone who believes that God does, indeed, work miracles in our time. But equally understandable are the questions raised by experienced pastoral leaders who have dealt with “revival” situations that have proven deceptive and that have ultimately deterred sincere souls from an understanding of God’s Word and relationship with His Son.

Second, it has not been the practice of The Foursquare Church to draw conclusions hastily in such situations. Our own history as a movement is marked by miracle visitations, both in the United States and in many nations around the world where our ministry extends. We have seen pure, wise, and trustworthy leaders scorned by cynics—at times, even scorned by church leaders who oppose miracles in our time on any terms. That is one reason our general response is to be “slow to speak,” as the Bible instructs (James 1:19). It is for that same reason that we tend to position ourselves as Gamaliel did (Acts 5:34-41)—the rabbi whose influence is reported by the Apostle Paul as having shaped his own thinking in significant regards (Acts 22:3).

As president of our fellowship, and in conjunction with the elders serving on our board and the executives serving in our offices, I recommend that we all give ourselves to prayer for God’s grace upon us as a fellowship of churches. We want to be available to His Spirit, instructed by His Word, open to His will, and humbly slow to pass judgment on things that are outside our purview. We are not called to answer for any other ministry or its report; our responsibility is to seek to serve our flock, teach our people God’s Word and wisdom, and keep ourselves open to to the precious workings of His Spirit.

For the time being, our desire is to live in hope, believe for God’s best in our day, and counsel our leaders and our people to be filled with the Spirit of God. We ask the Spirit to give us humility in discernment and to guard our souls from being either gullible, doubt-prone, or resistant to whatever God may seek to do that proves Christ-exalting, Word-verifying, and enduring beyond sensation or mere excitement. With time, whatever is taking place in Lakeland and through activities issuing from its happenings will either verify or discredit the source of the manifestations.

We are in an hour of history, both nationally and internationally, that calls us to prayer and fasting. Let us give ourselves to seeking God, and let us give place to His visitation in ways that please His heart, seek His glory, and honor His Son, our Savior, Healer, Baptizer with the Holy Spirit, and Soon Coming King.

Jean Dominique Bauby – The Diving Bell and the Butterfly

Jean-Dominique Bauby (April 23, 1952 – March 9, 1997) was a well-known French journalist and author and editor of the French fashion magazine ELLE. On December 8, 1995 at the age of 43, Bauby suffered a massive stroke. When he woke up twenty days later, he found he was entirely speechless; he could only blink his left eyelid. This rare condition is called Locked-in Syndrome, a condition wherein the mental faculties are intact but the entire body is paralyzed. Bauby also lost 60 pounds in the first 20 weeks after his stroke.

Nevertheless despite his condition, Bauby fulfilled his dream to write a book which he titled The Diving Bell and the Butterfly by blinking when the correct letter was reached by a person slowly reciting the alphabet over and over again. The book was published in France in 1997. The diving bell of Bauby’s title was his bodily confinement and limitation, the butterfly his imagination.

After fulfilling his dream, Bauby died just 10 days later of pneumonia. In 2007, painter-director Julian Schnabel released a film version of The Diving Bell and the Butterfly which won Schnabel the best director prize at Cannes, a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award nomination for Best Director.

A remarkable and inspiring true story about the awesome power of imagination, perseverance, and dedication to live one’s dream!

Now arise, transcend your excuses, triumph over your circumstances, and live your dreams!

Bauby’s life story gives me hope to find a way to live my dreams when I have no money to travel internationally and uplift humanity ministerially as is my customary life tendency. Nevertheless perhaps like Bauby through the printed page and my writings, until I lay hold of some money, I can journey my world inwardly until I resume my travels globally.
