Orlando Wedding Minister – Central Florida And Beyond

Weddings are a family affair that you want to give an extra bit of special tender love and care to. That being said, when you select a wedding minister to officiate the ceremony, you want someone who is sensitive to people.

Nowadays people who have no ministerial training are officiating weddings. A notary may have a degree of legality, but certainly no spirituality or platform presence. As a worldwide professional speaker who has for over 15 years been speaking across the globe, I have heard and seen a lot. I can’t tell you often I hear sad stories of special days gone awry when an unprofessional person officiated a ceremony.

Considering the thousands of dollars, sometimes tens of thousands, spent for the perfect dream wedding; you would think the family would be diligent to hire a wedding minister to bring it all together and officiate their daughter’s marriage. To my surprise this is often where people pinch pennies the most and reap a lifetime full of disappointment.

You can’t repeat a wedding ceremony. It is very hurtful to watch your wedding on video and see in performed improperly and without heart. A rigid and frigid ceremony isn’t what you want when your daughter gets married.

Nevertheless when families don’t attend church and have no access to a minister, it can be tough to figure out how to secure an officiant you can trust. Sadly Pastors often seem bound to their buildings and rarely stray away to officiate a ceremony outdoors or in a more elaborate setting.

As a native Floridian, I truly love my state and know some amazing places I myself enjoy visiting. It’s a pity more Pastors don’t perform their own congregation member’s ceremonies outdoors in some of these exciting venues. I guess when time is limited and needs countless, there is only so much a Pastor can do.

As for me however I prefer to be extraordinary rather than ordinary. The moments that we most remember and reminisce about throughout our lives are those where we personally indulged and did something different.

Live your dreams and beware of the enemy called average.

A Memorable Wedding Ceremony – Wedding Officiant & Minister for Weddings

Tie the knot properly and make a memorable wedding. As you embark upon a love that lasts a lifetime, do it right. This is the biggest day of your life and not to be taken lightly.

You want to lay a strong foundation in your marriage. The bride has been imagineering this day all of her life and will also be remembering for the rest of her life. Therefore grooms should do themselves a favor and make the necessary investment to ensure a lifetime of happiness. Though it may seem to men a bit ridiculous and futile at times to get all worried about an event that will last a few hours, it is very important to the bride to have her day as a princess.

It never ceases to amaze me how couples will spend up to $1,000 on flowers for a wedding and not give much thought about the wedding minister who presides over the entire ceremony. It is a known fact that most church services and wedding ceremonies are terribly boring and unoriginal. It is a tragedy considering the sizeable investment.

I guess it doesn’t occur to most couples that they don’t have to be married in a church or use a stale, stoic priest to preside over their ceremony. Excessive tradition makes a wedding rigid and frigid. A wedding is to be a time for celebration and inspiration.

Hire a minister who is a skilled orator who can connect with and speak to hearts. Anybody can direct traffic from the platform, but only a minister inspired by God can speak elegantly, graciously, and wisely.

The more personal, the more powerful. Choose someone to officiate your wedding who is personal, creative, and fun.

Mobile Minister, Florida Wedding Priest – Serving Your Needs

Since the advent of the airplane and worldwide web, everything has gone global. Ministry is no exception. People have many needs that the traditional church just doesn’t adequately meet or sufficiently provide anymore.

People are no longer just satisfied to attend a generic church service on Sunday and be milked of a tithe of their hard earned income. Typical Sunday services are full of announcements, have little Biblical expository teaching, and lull you to sleep with their old hymns. Many people would sleep in or go to a ballgame than be depressed by church.

Can you believe I as a minister am actually admitting this? Truth is painful, but can set you free if you will embrace it. The fact is people aren’t stupid. Religionists may be ignorant, but most people are not. People are sick of being served dead religion, which does not nourish their hearts and souls.

Moreoever meaningful relationships are hard to come by these days when mega-churches herd people in and out like cattle. The ministry model of Jesus was far more relational than most churches offer in America.

Don’t hear what I’m not saying. There is a lot of good that occurs throughout the body of Christ on Sundays. However much more needs to be done.

Here are some ways the local church could better serve its people:

1. Pastors should get to know their people and remember their names.

It is very hard to lead the people you don’t know. When people know how much you care, they will care how much you know.

2. Leadership should make themselves available to people throughout the week.

Church leaders need to be accessible throughout the week when they are needed most. Unexpected deaths, illnesses, the sudden family crisis and conflict, as well as successes are all wonderful times for a minister to be there for people.

3. Every minister should become a life purpose coach and cheerleader to assist people to live their dreams.

Unfortunately the model of ministry most follow is that of a weekly lecturer and religious officiant of traditional ceremonies. This does little to impart sustaining life to a person in need of daily practical application.

4. Churches need to put together a directory with the photos and names of its people, along with their occupation and long-term goals. That way people can better network and work together throughout the week beyond the four walls of the church.

5. Ministers must become mobile and go to the people.

For too long we have waited for the people to come to us. It is time we now go to the people. The church does not have a product problem. God is alive and well, ready to abundantly bless humanity. The church however has a distribution problem in that they have for too long remained hidden in the four walls of the religious edifice like the ancient monks in caves.

Jesus said, “You are the light of the world.” Let’s get out there into the world where people really need us and shine!

There can be no impact without contact.

OCD – Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Dr Oz and Jonathon Grayson

I watched Oprah last night with my wife and enjoyed seeing the interventions done by Dr. Oz and Jonathon Grayson for people struggling with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). I think we all know someone who struggles with something like this or manifests these irrational behavioral tendencies.

The common thread I heard throughout every story and conversation with those struggling with OCD was fear. They were all battling fear of some sort and deep paranoia. They developed various phobias based around their erroneous beliefs, which Jonathon and Dr. Oz challenged by making them confront their fears.

Exposure and response as it is commonly referred to in psychology was the methodology used to treat these precious souls. Some of the things they made them do were a bit odd and gross to watch, like putting their hands on the floor and toilet seats (after which they were told to lick their hands).

Oz and Grayson took a 2 mile walk through the streets of Philadelphia to wear down the participants’ defenses and get them to open up. After the long walk they stopped in a back alley with some rubbish bins, one particularly which smelled like puke, old sour food, and feces. After some coaching and prodding, all participants put their hands in the slimy rubbish and licked them afterward, some putting their dirty hands through their hair.

All of this was to get the people to realize they weren’t going to die if they did what they most feared. I must say however seeing Dr. Oz putting his hands on a toilet seat and licking them afterward was terribly disgusting. My wife who watches Oprah every day was eating her dinner during the program. I couldn’t resist saying, “Oh baby, maybe you should get free from your OCD (control freak) by licking the toilet seat and drinking some toilet water.” (I know I’m bad. She finished her meal unabated.)

I was very impressed with the intervention, but probably would not have done the gross methods myself to achieve the same results. Dealing with the roots and origins of the phobia is crucial.

One African American mother confessed when a loved one died years ago she felt as if it was her fault. This erroneous belief opened the door to fear as she falsely interpreted the event. Thereafter she (and another white mother on the show with similar circumstances) began to shelter their children and freak out about every little thing as a perverse protective mechanism. What the women failed to realize was in actuality they weren’t protecting their kids as much as they were harming them by imparting a spirit of fear and thereby removing them from life itself.

At the beginning all participants were initially reminded of the pain, loss of loved ones, alienation of friends, career loss, and financial hardships caused by their phobias. This helped each commit to the coaching and unique methods used to provide them their breakthrough.

After the intervention the people all looked way better, more free, present, and regained the glow in their countenance. One gentleman who always kept one hand in his pocket to stay germ free, was outdoors with both hands out, talking about playing in the dirt and having fun. He regained himself and thereby his life.

Jonathon Grayson occasionally throughout the segment called and referred to the fear everyone was struggling with as a “monster” saying: “When you run from this monster it follows you.” He later also called it a “devil” and encouraged one woman as she sought to pray to God for power to overcome it.

I was blessed to hear the one clean freak mom (white with short curly hair – sorry I don’t remember her name) testify to her breakthrough of taking her children out for ice-cream after the intervention. Her daughter wore a white shirt and got ice-cream all over it, but mom didn’t obsess or freak out. Upon leaving the restaurant she left without worrying about tidying up, pushing in the chairs, or agonizing over anything. A personal breakthrough for her!

Dr. Oz at the conclusion of the show summed up some key principles to freedom. “Surrender, get free from those attachments.”

As we are fully present and awake to our own past dysfunction, we can boldly deal with it and get the breakthroughs we deserve to live freely and be whole.

Truly what we resist does persist. Face your fears and live free!

Church Shooting in California Before Priest Prays the Blessing

Andrew Blankstein and David Pierson of the LA Times reported:

A rifleman angered by a custody dispute with his ex-girlfriend opened fire Saturday at a parish school festival in Granada Hills this morning, wounding the woman and two other fair-goers before being tackled by bystanders and arrested by an off-duty police officer, authorities said.

Witnesses described scenes of terror and panic as the man nonchalantly brandished a .22-caliber rifle made to look like an M-16 assault rifle and fired into booths at the fair.

The shooting took place shortly before the 11 a.m. start of the festival on a baseball field on the grounds of the St. John Baptist de la Salle church and school at Chatsworth Street and Hayvenhurst Avenue, authorities said.

Los Angeles Police Department Capt. Steven Ruiz said Fernando Diaz Jr., 33, arrived at the festival and sought out his 9-year-old son, who attends the school, and his estranged girlfriend, who were both near a booth in center field.

Diaz “walks up carrying a tennis bag on his shoulder, puts it down, embraces his child, and then removes the rifle from the bag and aims it” at his ex-girlfriend, Ruiz said. “He fires multiple rounds, hitting her and two others. People were screaming, running and ducking for cover.”

He is being held in lieu of $1.5-million bail at the LAPD Van Nuys station on suspicion of three counts of attempted murder.

The ex-girlfriend, 29, was shot in the arm and was listed in stable condition.

A 45-year-old man who was shot in the leg and a 43-year-old man who was shot in the chest also were in stable condition. The victims were not identified, Ruiz said.

Diaz was subdued by half a dozen bystanders after he appeared to have difficulty firing his weapon, he said.

“He either had to change out his [clip] or his gun may have jammed,” Ruiz said. “That was when people jumped on him.”

One of the first to tackle the man was Jeff Sempelsz, whose son attends the school. Sempelsz was hanging prizes at his coin-toss booth, waiting for the parish priest to bless the event, when he heard the gunshots.

Stolen Innocence by Erin Merryn – incest survivor & Elissa Wall – FLDS church polygamy & child abuse

Eleven-year-old Erin Myrren’s life was marred the night she was sexually abused by her cousin, someone she loved and trusted.

As the abuse continued, and as she was forced to see her abuser over and over again in social situations, she struggled with self-doubt, panic attacks, nightmares and the weight of whether or not to tell her terrible secret. It wasn’t until a traumatic series of events showed her the cost of silence that she chose to speak out-in the process destroying both her family and the last of her innocence.

“Through her personal diary, written during the years of her abuse, Erin Myrren shares her journey through pain and confusion to inner strength and, ultimately, forgiveness. Raw, powerful and unflinchingly honest, Stolen Innocence is the inspiring story of one girl’s struggle to become a woman, and a bright light on the pain and devastation of abuse.”

“Stolen Innocence is written with conviction and clarity. Erin Myrren doesn’t hold back, and I respect her honesty and openness…By the end of the book, I thought I was reading passages from a much older adult than a high school senior. Erin has grown into a strong, wise, intelligent, perceptive, spiritual, caring adult.”

Forced to marry at 14, Oprah’s Lisa Ling provided a special report on the grotesque polygamist practices within the FLDS “church” (an offshoot from the formerly and sometimes secretly still polygamist Mormon “church” of latter day “saints”).

In the FLDS Church from the moment she was born, all Elissa Wall knew was adhering to her pedophile “prophet’s” commands. From her “teachings”, which were portrayed as Biblical and godly, all Elissa knew was that the “prophet’s” job was to dictate what was best for the girls, speaking as he was God’s earthly orator.

Made to marry her cousin at the age of 14, Elissa was brainwashed to believe her marriage was the will of God and therefore nothing could be done to stop it. Nevertheless she still asked for permission not to marry, tried to resist, and pushed back when her new “husband” tried to make a move for his first kiss.

Knowing she was different from other girls in her community, Elissa wanted an education, maybe even to become a nurse or teacher someday. During her year in public school, Elissa had come to realize things were possible that she’d never dreamed before. Elissa knew that she wanted to be a mother of good priesthood children, but not at 14-years-of-age!

Yet Uncle Fred had other plans for Elissa’s precious life, telling her “the prophet” wanted her to marry. Although it felt horrible inside and didn’t seem right, Elissa wanted to please God.

Cult leader and self-proclaimed “prophet” Warren Jeffs used religion to prey on and sexually abuse women and children. Don’t be duped by foul religion, read God vs. Religion by Paul F Davis and find freedom! Escape the enslavement and clutches of dead religion. Awaken to foul religion, pseudo-spiritual manipulation, and the need for proper godly confrontation. Learn truths to experience personal liberation.

For the broken hearted, Davis has written Breakthrough For A Broken Heart empowering us to overcome our disappointments and blossom into our dreams.

Davis commends Erin and Elissa for turning their mess into a message to help others like them across the globe similarly suffering and ensnared by sexual perverts. God have mercy and help the young girls entrapped get free from these foul excuses for men.

Davis in his compassion has even written a book for sex addicts to help them find freedom. Paul encourages men to read his book Stop Lusting & Start Living – A Sexual Recovery Plan.

Davis says, “God above is full of love and can set both the oppressed and the oppressor free simultaneously. Whosoever will humble their heart and cry out to Christ Jesus for salvation can be saved from their sin and self.”

Wedding Minister – A Priest & Officiant Who Can Dance & Celebrate!

Who said wedding ministers can’t be creative, dance, and celebrate? Mr. Miagee on the movie Karate Kid said, “Never trust a spiritual leader who can’t dance.”

The last wedding I officiated, after the dinner everybody headed to the dance floor. Many were surprised to see me the wedding minister dancing and rejoicing. Though I got many compliments for the wedding ceremony I performed and was warmly received by everyone, I guess dancing is not the norm for most traditional religious guys.

As for me, I believe a wedding is meant to be an unforgettable celebration to be enjoyed by all. Therefore I did not hold back and went straight out to the dance floor with my wife in hand. We had a blast dancing beneath the stars, while we soaked up the cool spring breeze.

The Bible exhorts us to dance, make merry, and rejoice in the Lord. We should praise the Lord with every available instrument holding nothing back. Let everything that has breath rejoice in the Creator (Psalm 149).

The joy of the Lord is our strength (Nehemiah 8:10). That being said it is right and proper that we should exuberantly celebrate every wedding with joy and dancing. Jesus performed His first miracle at the wedding in Cana, where He turned water into wine (John 2).

A couple deserves to have a personalized and creatively tailor made ceremony. Anything less is average and borders mediocrity. A wedding day is a once-in-a-lifetime event that should be extraordinary in every detail, the most important being the minister who officiates and speaks to the hearts of all present.
